Cities New Zealand and Tourism Bay of Islands
Although agriculture is important to the New Zealand economy, most New Zealanders live in cities. Of the 3.7 million population almost three quarters live in urban areas. Auckland is the largest city while Wellington is the country's capital city. Greater Auckland contains almost one quarter of the country's population.

Auckland is New Zealand's commercial and industrial capital.
Rotorua is the most popular tourism area of the North Island.
Napier is famed for its Art Deco 1930's style.
Wellington is the Capital of New Zealand.
Christchurch is South Island's largest city.
Dunedin was founded by Scottish settlers in the 1840's.
Queenstown is now the adventure resort capital of New Zealand.
