Wellington is the Capital of New Zealand and is situated at the southern end of the North Island. Based around a large harbour with hills close to the waters edge. Excellent motorways and electric commuter train system make moving around Wellington very easy. An attraction of the centre of Wellington city is the exhilarating cable car ride from the small alley in the middle of commercial center in Lampton Quay to the botanical gardens high above the city or taking in the views from Mount Victoria.

New Zealand’s National museum Te Papa has many modern interactive displays as well as traditional displays. Close by is the National Library with its extensive collection of early colonial pictures and records often used for genealogy and other research. Wellington Accommodation
